The Proposal

As most of you know I have been dating Tiffnie Akiona for almost a year.  I have always known that Tiffnie was someone special; I always tell her that I want to make her smile, laugh, feel beautiful and like a princess.

Last week on Thursday, Tiffnie and I had dinner at The Boulevard Cafe.  Tiffnie mentioned that Half Dome was the second most beautiful place she had ever been to.  But secretly she didn’t want to make the hike but she deiced to go anyways. (lucky for her.. hehe)

We started the hike at 6AM.  Within the first 30 min Tiffnie started to get altitude sickness.  So we took it easy and the rest of people we were hiking with took off.  We went up the Mist Trail because it was a shorter route.  I’m not sure if this was the smartest idea. We were soaked before we finished getting to the top of the falls.

After the Misty Trail we managed to catch up with a few of my coworkers.  The closer to the top we were, the more I realized how out of shape I was.

Once we made it to the granite staircase Tiffnie ended up pulling her gluteus on the way up.  We sat down and had a talk.  We came to the conclusion that there was no way she was going to make it up the cables. So I told her not to leave and I would be back.  I had the raffle tickets for our company fundraiser so I had to meet the rest of the team at the top.  So I left most of my gear with Tiffnie on top of Sub-Dome.  So, I ran up the outside of the cables in about 10 min.  While I was at the top we pulled the winning ticket.  I told the guys I was going to head down back to Tiffnie so I could get some lunch.  So I made my way back down the cables on the outside.

Once I arrived back down I reminded Tiffnie about our dinner the previous night.  I said to her remember when you told me that half dome was the 2nd most beautiful place you have ever been to? Well do you know what would make it even more special? Then I pulled out a ring and asked if she wanted to spend the rest of her life with me.  She was shocked. She went to hug me and knocked the ring outside of my hand.  The box fell and then ring flew out and rolled half way down sub-dome.  I thought it was a goner for sure! I dove for the ring almost to my death! Afterwards all we could do was laugh.

Ross & Chris came down from Half dome and we told them what happened.  Everyone was so excited.  Later that night we had some champagne to celebrate.

Memorial Day Weekend we decided to plan a short camping trip to Jawbone. My sister has been bugging me for years to take a trip up there with them for a long time.  This was a fun trip because it was the first time Tiffnie, Maka, and I have gone camping together.

This was also my first trip with my new Canon Rebel XSi. So i got to spend the weekend getting acquainted with my new toy.  Below is just a few pictures from the weekend.  If you would like to see the rest please visit flickr.com/danielversola

We had a fun time fishing, eating, hiking, playing games around the camp fire.  Thanks to Amber, Matt, Nathan, Makilee, Frankel, Cory & Hazel for making it a fun weekend :)

As you know the PRC sustained major damage in the fire last week. They are setting up a temporary office with the help of Sierra Vista
Children’s Services but need some help with the items below

Don’t forget to check out the video on their website
www.prcfamilies.org for info on the devastation.

Good morning all,
I have been working to put together a list of needs for our “new” office
space. Here we go:

13 desk chairs
3 printers
1 fax machine
2 desks
2 refrigerators
1 copy machine
3 10 key adding machines
5 sets of bookshelves
1 microwave
1 coffee pot-standard
1 coffee pot-commercial size
Office supplies:
copy/printer paper
pens/pencils
staplers/staples
paper clips
notepads
file folders (3rd cut)

I appreciate anything you can do! An enormous thank you to Dan who is
getting us 13 new flat screen monitors and letting us use Bronco IT to
get the computers set up at the new location!!

Thank you all for you support, the emails, phone calls, food, positive
thoughts/prayers, we need them all right now! This is just the
beginning of a long journey, one that will lead us to a better place
than we ever thought possible!!

For Easter this year I decided to give @tiffymonster tickets for Third day.  We had a really great time. Calvary Temple Worship Center is a great venue and Modesto is lucky to have such a place to host Christian Concerts.

Third Day 024

The band that opened was an Aussie group called Revive.  They left their life back at home in Australia and they use time here in the US as a mission trip to spread the word of Jesus Christ though their music.

Third Day 009

Brandon Heath
was the next music artist to take the stage. He recently won New Artist of the Year at the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards. Brandon also said “life is nothing but a hill of beans without the Lord”

Third Day 013

After two great opening acts, Third Day came out and really set the tone for the evening. Mac Powell vocal’s are captivating and that man can play the tambourine! Tai Anderson tore up the base though out the evening while David Carr set the tempo on his drums. Mac Powell took off stage during the show and then appeared in the back to play an acoustic set while the band followed. He took request and played different songs from their albums. Then they moved back on stage to finish an encore set with special guests Brandon Heath & Revive. Thanks again to Third Day for providing a great night of worship. I would hope that this small post touches someone the way that I was touched this night by these great musicians. god bless.

Being an active adult im pretty much always on the go.  Trying to juggle work, gym, dinner, and spending time with @tiffymonster can be changeling. Luckily she is so supportive of the things i do.

Tonight i wanted to eat something light, fresh, and healthy after a nice work out at In-Shape City Floyd.

So i head over to my local grocery store, Savemart to pick up a few things.

chickenwrap
- Mission Wraps “Garden Spinach Herb”
- tomatoes
- English cucumber
- Avocado
- Fully Cooked Chicken Breast Strips Grilled
- Sargento Classic Mozzarella Cheese
- Kraft Catalina dressing

Take the wrap and spread the catalina dressing evenly.  Add a little bit of the ingredients.  Add a little salt and pepper.  Roll it like burrito and enjoy.

Its not every day you or someone you know makes the news paper.  The neat thing about this post is that my girlfriend @tiffymonster and i both made The Modesto Bee on a front page story.

Social Media is taking off and many local business are catching on.  Its nice to see a positive story about twitter in the news.  I follow @modbee online and its the only way i keep up with local news.

And because my name came up in the paper my good friend @BDUBweitl reminded me “@danielversola i heard if you get ur name in print that you have to buy ice cream for your boys…..” but i offered to buy the gang pizza over @herospizza so we will be connecting soon.

Well i just got my replacement Dell XPS m1330.   There are a few features that i didn’t have on my last one that i think i am going to like.  The Dell Vista Dock is pretty neat.  I am going to try to organize all my short cuts and keep my desktop clutter free.  Also i found this “Windows Live Writer” i thought i would test integrating it into my wordpress blog.  So i might be blogging more :)
